Spoirt Teic is a FAS Community Training Programme sponsored by South Dublin County Council which annually provides training and qualifications in Fitness Instruction, Sports Coaching & Recreational Leadership to young people from the South Dublin County Council administrative area.
Since its inception in 1993, the Spoirt Teic Programme has developed & expanded to meet the changing demands of the leisure industry & now offers international & national awards. The participants are equipped with the necessary skills to work as sports coaches in their local communities & to gain employment in any field of the health & leisure industry. Spoirt Teic has evolved into one of the most successful of such projects in the country. To date there has been a 100% success rate among participants in obtaining employment or continuing on to further education and this serves to highlight the enormous benefit of what has been a very successful partnership between the Council and FAS in sponsoring this project.
